Jail term despite trauma

A drug dealer has been jailed despite a court being told his offending was a consequence of the trauma he suffered when his mother and stepfather were murdered four years ago.

Joey McDonald, 21, was sentenced in Tauranga District Court to 20 months' imprisonment.

He admitted possessing cannabis for supply after 18 tinnies were found at his property.
