When Faith Amiria O'Connor drove with more than the legal limit of alcohol in her system she crashed into a ditch, then swapped seats with a passenger before they continued home to Martinborough.
However, they had to stop the car at Carterton and call an ambulance for one of the passengers to be treated for shock.
O'Connor blew an alcohol reading of 546mcg of alcohol per litre of breath when police arrived about 2.15am on September 13. The legal limit is 400mcg for an adult driver.
Appearing before Judge Barbara Morris in the Masterton District Court recently, the 25-year-old pleaded guilty to her second drink-drive charge.
Judge Morris warned her: "If you get a third conviction ... [you will be] at risk of losing your liberty."
