Two men caught drag racing at speeds of up to 230km/h in rush-hour traffic on State Highway 1 near Dunedin have been sentenced in the Christchurch District Court.
Douglas Pere, 29, was jailed for two months and Victor Bracken, 50, ordered to do 300 hours' community work.
They pleaded guilty to reckless driving, drag racing and driving at dangerous speeds.
Both were banned from driving for 18 months.
