Auckland City Council is welcoming a jail term for a graffiti vandal.
Eighteen-year-old Joshua Folasa has been given nine months behind bars for criminal damage.
The charges relate to tagging on private property, as well as on a community mural in Onehunga, and the Auckland District Court building.
Graffiti prevention officer Rob Shields said Aucklanders have had enough.
He said the sooner young people and the hip hop community realise graffiti is not cool, the better.
