Jacinda Ardern described as 'young, honest and pregnant' by 60 Minutes Australia

An Australian 60 Minutes segment profiling Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern looks set to shower our leader with praise, with a sneak peek claiming "the world's never seen a leader quite like her".

A preview for the piece, to air in Australia this Sunday, describes Ardern as "young, honest and pregnant".

It covers why Ardern delved into the world of politics and asks the question, "How will New Zealand's unconventional first family make it work?".

Presenter Charles Wooley kicks off the promotion clip asking Ardern, "How did a nice girl like you get involved in the sordid world of politics?".

Ardern replies, "Nice people go into politics."

The clip shows snippets of Ardern manning the BBQ at Waitangi, fronting a media scrum following the announcement of her pregnancy and walking the halls of Parliament.

Wooley observes her expertise in frying up some bacon, commenting, "I don't think Malcolm Turnbull does this."

Another clip promises insights of Ardern's relationship with partner Clarke Gayford.

"Jacinda - what a great catch," Wooley says to Gayford, who is described in the piece as "the fisherman behind the woman".

The segment follows scores of coverage from international media on Ardern and Gayford's baby news, as well as Ardern's rise to the top spot in New Zealand politics.

The couple were pictured on the cover of UK paper The Guardian grinning from ear to ear outside their home in Auckland last month following the news of Ardern's pregnancy.
