Auckland amphibious boatbuilder Sealegs has scored an international promotional coup. The inflatable with powered legs that can handle sand and tarmac will feature on the History Channel this Sunday. The feature in the Tactical to Practical segment covers the development of the craft, its recreational and tourism applications and sales potential. The Sealegs company will show the boat at the Paris International Boat Show in December.
Whiting adds Nanni to NZ diesel range
Whiting Power Systems has added the Nanni range of European-built diesels to its comprehensive range of engines, drive components and generators. Tony Whiting, managing director of the Auckland-based company, says the robust and reliable band of compact lightweight engines is well-proven around the world. The company will stock 15 engines from the range. The 10 to 130hp models are Kubota-based and the 175-320hp engines are Toyota-based.
Southern company takes top award
The Invercargill company Stabi-Craft Maine won the Best Aluminium Boat award at the Otago Boat and Outdoor Show. With a big reputation for building rugged craft, the winning 609HT model rigged for serious fishing was ruled pretty as well as practical.
