A new maritime magazine has joined the aquatic media mix with the publication of the first issue of Seabiz. The quarterly is the official voice of the New Zealand Marine Transport Association. Initially it will go only to MTA members, related industry organisations and central, regional and local government agencies. The messages Seabiz carries are relevant and well-presented.

Academy away
The new sailing academy at the Royal Akarana Yacht Club is already a big success. Club manager Bruce Martin says almost all the 40 places available have been taken and the training programme will now run on Thursday evenings as well as weekends. Be safe and win.

The second New Zealand Herald safe boating promotion is launched next weekend. Running over six weeks, it gives readers the chance to win a Stabi-Craft trailer boat valued at more than $60,000. The competition is part of the regionwide 2002-03 Safe Summer campaign, co-ordinated by WaterSafe Auckland. The first big Safe Summer initiative takes the message to the ASG Parent and Child Show at the Auckland Showgrounds this weekend.
