The America's Cup Jubilee series to be sailed out of Cowes from August 19 has drawn more than 200 boats.
Celebrating 150 years of competition, the regatta includes a rerun of the first race for the 100 Guinea Cup the "wrong" way around the Isle of Wight.
Entries are still being taken for the International America's Cup Class (IACC), which is covered by a separate Notice of Race. Among the entries for the jubilee series is Australia II, the yacht John Bertrand skippered to wrest the cup from the New York Yacht Club in 1983.
Fishing special
Some of the 3000 competitors in the country's biggest fishing competition will get their moment of fame on Saturday night. The Lion Red Furuno, out of Kawau Island in February, is the subject of Geoff Thomas' Mazda Outdoors show on TV3 at 5 pm.
New sponsor
Honda Marine has picked up the sponsorship for the world's longest-running powerboat race, the Cowes-Torquay-Cowes classic. The re-named Honda Cowes Classic will be the highlight of a three-day festival of speed on the Isle of Wight at the end of August.
The speed section will include the Honda four-stroke series and the RHIB world cup. Formula One stars Eddie Jordan, Jarno Trulli and Ricardo Zonta will be racing their Formula four-stroke boats in the Round-the-Island race on September 2.
