It has been decided. The Wellingtonian equivalent to Jafa, as decreed by the bloggers at Generation XY, is Snifta (Sooo Not Into Funding The Aucklanders, above). Check out the other finalists at generation-xy.blogspot.com

Not able to use a Mac to book flights with Air New Zealand? Lawrence Johnstone says this isn't uncommon for Mac users. "There's a little program called Safari Enhancer which can be downloaded free. This allows you to configure Safari, the Mac browser, to make any website think you're running a PC with Internet Explorer," he suggests. David Theobald reports he booked a flight from Auckland to Wellington online with his Mac on Sunday afternoon. "Air NZ's website might be incompatible with some web browsers. I used Firefox on my Mac to make my recent booking but I don't recall seeing any warning of this on the site. I find it very hard to believe that Air New Zealand would make a conscious decision to exclude Mac users from their site. Although we are in a minority those of us who use a superior machine are at present increasing in number." Confirming this Mac user smugness, anonymous writes ... "With market share running at 98 per cent for PC and 2 per cent for Mac, a company would have to be desperate to throw money away just to add functionality to their website for 2 per cent of their customers - since, as Mac users so sneeringly like to boast, they are able to run windows on a Mac anyway". If all this sounds too difficult, then House of Travel says their website is optimised for PC and AppleMac users and you can book flights within NZ for no extra charge.

A reader would like to tell the couple in the newly registered white wagon seen leaving the Foodtown carpark at Highland Park just before 6pm on Monday that "putting your crying baby to the breast may keep it quiet but in the front seat it won't save its life in an accident. What can be so urgent to need to drive off? Why isn't your new young life more precious?"

An early adopter writes: "That pic of the Seiko watch/computer takes me back (I say this and I'm only 30). I had one of those things as a kid. (It was given to me as a present). You weren't supposed to wear the whole thing, though. The watch clipped off from the keyboard when it wasn't needed. It was an early address/phone number diary and, sad as it now seems, it gave me great kudos in the classroom, and I got lots of girls' numbers just for owning it!"
