Young and stupid and on Facebook: Someone in the US named Liz was annoyed at the television coverage of Haiti getting in the way of her regular viewing ... She updated her Facebook page with "Well at least I have a few channels left ... thanks Haiti" and the comments that followed went like this ...
Ryan: Yeah screw this Haiti shit.
Liz: I agree. If this happened to us, would they come together and donate to us ... no ... I am not donating a single cent ... call me a bitch I don't care.
Ryan: Where were they when Hurricane Katrina hit?
Scott: Haiti is a third world country, a dollar to them is a lot of money. How can you expect them to help?
Ryan: ... I don't see anyone stepping up to solve the unemployment problem in Michigan, so why should I donate money I worked hard for?
Liz: Exactly ... all I'm saying is even if they did have the money, I don't believe for a minute that they'd help us ... BTW I am glad this is happening today and not yesterday. If I missed Jersey Shore [a reality TV show] cuz of this I would be heated!

Oh, come on: James finally got his turn at the checkout at Foodtown, Mt Eden. He had four items, the cost of which was $10.06. "I reached into my pocket and pulled out a $10 note but couldn't find any change. I asked the girl if she could let me off the 6c on this occasion ... She checked with her supervisor who said ... 'No, he has to pay or put the products back'. I paid the six cents with my Eftpos card and wondered what would have happened 20 years ago ... they would have said 'Don't worry about it mate'. Times have changed."

Sined James of Mt Albert was one of many who had something to say to 100km/h-Laurel who was honked and gesticulated at on the motorway in Papakura. "I was on the motorway on Saturday and stuck behind Laurel or one of her 'sisters' who was arrogantly blocking up an outside lane at 100km/h and completely ignoring the October 09 road code which states 'keep left, unless you are passing'. All power to the middle-aged beige Honda Civic driver for trying to give her a hurry up."
