When is a pint not a pint? When it's served at the Cock & Bull in Ellerslie. "As a regular drinker at the C & B, I noticed the new glasses straight away. This pub has always maintained it serves beer in a full pint glass - and the old glasses were exactly that (568ml for the metric folk). The new glasses are smaller. Not so small that most people will notice the difference - but a clear 40ml smaller, nonetheless. It's not a pint! Has the price dropped to account for the smaller glasses? Of course not. And when $8 is being charged for this 'pint' that isn't, that's 56c I'm being ripped off by for every non-pint that is being sold as a pint."

Philippa from Titirangi wants to put a flea in the ear of "all those people who board the bus and only then start fishing around in their bag for the bus fare ... while 30 or so other passengers wait patiently - you are going to need money for the bus ... so have it ready to give to the driver. Foreign students are particularly bad at this - are buses free in other countries?"

Plenty of people were quick to chastise Leslie Paul, who went to Burger King with his kids and was told by staff to keep his kids quiet. He replies: "My kids are very well disciplined for a 2-year-old and 5-year-old and they were playing in the jungle gym at the Burger King, not in the restaurant."

Officials in Pecica, Romania, a village town about 20km from the Hungarian border in the country's west, ordered the bright red signs complete with the phrase "Attention - Drunks". The Mayor said officials took action after a "despairing" number of accidents in the town, caused by drunken revellers, with some even resulting in fatalities. "We are a border town and have lots of cars thundering through here all the time," he told local media. "But we also have a very vibrant nightlife and the two don't mix."
