Hayden Martelli was shopping at the refurbished Foodtown in Greenlane on Friday and noticed these signs in the wine section. "When I pointed out the misspellings to the lady at the checkout, she looked at me as if I was stupid and told me that they were probably just new varieties."

Kathryn writes: "My larger-than-life and very obstinate aunty, renowned even outside of our family as an accomplished complainer and successful returner of faulty goods, was asked to take some trousers my brother had purchased for a wedding back to a men's clothing shop as a seam had come undone.
She stood in the shop for half an hour complaining about the quality of the trousers, and was delighted to finally snare not only a refund but a new - though differently branded - pair of trousers.
When she returned home, my mother was horrified to discover my aunty had gone into the wrong shop. 'I wondered why they kept insisting they didn't stock that brand,' my aunty said, 'but after half an hour of arguing, they finally agreed with me.'
In the 20 years that has passed since, my mum still feels too guilty to even pause outside that particular shop."

Never one to miss a free plug, a radio station exec writes in response to Francois Sauvageot's neighbour's itchy trigger finger on his new rocket launcher: "The Radioworks Accurate Traffic Chopper flies over Newmarket (at a legal 1000ft) every morning at 7.15. OK, to be fair, Jesse, our traffic reporter isn't a brain surgeon (or even close), but he's quite good at giving a bird's eye view of the traffic on Auckland's roads, on 91.8 MORE FM every morning. Don't shoot the messenger!"
