My 2-year-old was delighted his $2 bought him the ability to strafe innocent store shoppers with the unmistakable sound of an M60 machine gun. An Auckland reader says he's gobsmacked at the meanness of a medical specialist who saw his teenage son for an initial consultation. "It was surprising enough that the bill came to $375 for an appointment lasting just over an hour, but what really got up my nose was that we were told that if we wanted a receipt when we posted in our cheque, we would have to send a stamp and an envelope too. A German real estate agent was shocked to find himself described on TV as one of the most wanted men in the world. Frank Amsel, from Munich, saw a picture of himself and wife Edith on the local equivalent of Crimewatch.
He was described as "a ruthless Mafia godfather who has been a killer since he was a teenager". The FBI had mistakenly released the picture of Mr and Mrs Amsel on holiday in Taormina, Sicily, instead of airing of a picture of crime boss James "Whitey" Bulger, 79, and his wife Catherine Greig.
Frank said: "Mr Schmidt, my neighbour, came around with a bottle of beer, said he didn't know I had a sideline, while my mother-in-law took it as an opportunity to tell my wife of 30 years what a mistake she had made in marrying me."
