KEY POINTS:
Hillary Clinton gets that special kind of political mud-slinging reserved for the ladies of politics: A T-shirt with the slogan "Monica Lewinsky's ex-boyfriend's wife for President" is amusing; others, like the "I Wish Hillary Had Married O. J." one, are not so. But just like high school, the best way to insult a girl is to call her fat or ugly, like this KFC Hillary Meal Deal parody. (Source: thestranger.com)

Customs staff are seldom surprised by what they find at airport control. But they were shocked and horrified when they opened a suitcase and came face to face with - a dead tiger. The owner of the illicit cargo was arrested for attempting to smuggle the jungle creature into Aberdeen in his luggage. But it is not only dead creatures that Customs crew find. Another passenger tried to transport his beloved pet parrot in a shoe box. Polly wasn't too happy about the prospect of being put through the x-ray machine at the security check. The owner informed a shocked security officer: "You can't x-ray this - it's my parrot." After being told it simply wasn't possible to allow him to travel with a parrot on board, the man then asked if he could travel with another pet ... and produced a giant tarantula from his trouser pocket. Sally Couper of Onehunga says sandwich bread is out and toast bread is in: "It is amazing the number of food outlets that sell 'sandwiches' made with thick slices of bread, bread intended, by the manufacturer, for toast. It takes a lot of sandwich filling to make up for the thickness of the bread."

Douglas Hoffman, 61, was sentenced to five years in prison for staging a small-scale terror campaign among his neighbours in Henderson, Nevada, to hide the fact he had destroyed more than 500 trees to get a better view of the Las Vegas Strip. At first he cut down just the trees that affected his own view but, to divert attention, he cut down others in the subdivision and then sent threatening notes suggesting that an extremist militia would continue to attack their property, finally promising "chemical, biological and nuclear mass destruction".
