KEY POINTS:
Breathing is damaging the planet so please stop it at once. Walking does more than driving to cause global warming, says Chris Goodall, author of How to Live a Low-Carbon Life. Huh? According to the Times Online, it takes so much energy to produce food that more carbon is emitted providing a person with enough calories to walk to the shops than a car would emit over the same distance. "The climate could benefit if people avoided exercise, ate less and became couch potatoes. Provided, of course, they remembered to switch off the TV rather than leaving it on standby," the story said. Goodall goes on to say that becoming a vegetarian isn't enough on its own. "Don't buy anything from the supermarket," he says, "or anything that's travelled too far."

Theknot.com is a wedding site with advice for brides and wedding planners to make that special chintzy day even more so. There is a page devoted to wedding bathrooms, suggesting brides lay out baskets of pot-pourri, nice soaps, hairspray in the bathrooms and dim lighting. All fairly reasonable. But for the extra fussy, here's another suggestion: "Really love your wedding colours? Add co-ordinating dye to the toilet water. Fill the bathroom floor with rose petals." A FLYING saucer that glides 3m off the ground and carries two passengers has gone into commercial production. US company Moller International has begun to make parts for its Jetsons-like personal flying pod. The M200G Volantor is the size of a small car and is designed to take off and land vertically, reports Sky News. "It's not a hovercraft, although its operation is just as easy," said inventor Paul Moller. "You can speed over rocks, swampland, fences or log-infested waterways with ease because you're not limited by the surface." The flying saucer is designed to fly at a height of up to 3m, where it benefits from extra lift created by a cushion of air - known as ground effect. (Source: Ananova.com)
