An 81-year-old German woman driving to a cemetery in her electric wheelchair decided to take a shortcut and drove the wrong way down a motorway. The wheelchair had been travelling at 6km/h. Vehicles on Germany's autobahns must clock at least 60km/h and there is no upper speed limit on some sections. Motorists spotted the woman and notified authorities, who escorted her to safety. "She told us she got lost and wanted to avoid taking a big detour," a police spokesman in the southern city of Nuremberg said. (Source: Reuters)

Anna Ellis was very proud to receive an enrolment form to vote in the local body elections recently. "However, I am only 10 years old," she says. "My mother sent a letter telling that I am only 10. They then sent another reminder for me to enrol. My sister and brother also got enrolment forms and they are 14 and 15. I know they need more people to vote but isn't this going too far?"

A 3-year-old English boy who put a traffic cone on his head so he could look like Harry Potter had to be cut free by firemen. Charlie Thomas of Devon was playing while on a family day out and came across the cone, which he of course thought would make an excellent Harry Potter wizard hat. His parents Louisa and Martin soon realised the bright orange cone was jammed tight. His mother tried to free her son by using soap, but they decided to call the local fire brigade, reports the Sun. The six firemen who attended the emergency got him out by pouring water down the cone and cutting the rim.
