Since when did we grow bananas? Sally Barclay says dried banana chips served as a snack on a recent Air New Zealand flight were labelled: "Peckish? Refuel with our home-grown dried fruit".

Des Williams responds to the "scenic reserve" sign and photo taken by a sharp-eyed correspondent while travelling north from Taumarunui to Hamilton (top right). "Did he/she stop the car to take the photo, we wonder? Travelling south from Hamilton to Taumarunui, and looking directly over the top of the sign, you would see the reserve as below (bottom right). Only on a fine day, mind you! The 57-hectare reserve is set back from the road, but includes a narrow, public access strip from the road into the bush area."

Anne Clark of Howick responds to the Waikato reader who she says abused a mistake at Foodtown in Hamilton - gleefully buying the mistakenly priced wine and spreading the word. "I am not in any way associated with the food trade but I am totally ashamed of Kiwis who take such delight in ripping anyone off, be it small or large. We all make mistakes, but to knowingly abuse the situation is disgusting. Does this person take delight in keeping too much change when given it in error?"

Don't worry Anne, honesty and integrity can be found, according to Trevor who works in administration for a finance company. "One of our reps recently reversed into another car and damaged the hub cap. He left a note on the car and I sent out $100 compensation for the repairs on his behalf. This morning I received a refund from the person of $70 (hub caps $20 + $10 inconvenience) with a note to thank us for our honesty. The note read: 'Although the $70 was insignificant, you finance companies seem to need all the help you can get at the moment'."

Festival water: "Compare and contrast the Deep Hard and Funky dance party water-buying experience with mine at Coachella (US) last year," challenges Keith. "Water US$1 a bottle." What's more, if you collected 10 empty bottles from the ground litter and returned them, you got free water.
