No dogs or sprogs allowed
A mall in Cincinnati, Ohio, is posting security guards at all entrances to check IDs and stop anyone under 18 entering without being accompanied by an adult ( 21 or over) after 4pm on Fridays and Saturdays. A mall spokesman said: "Being youth, they tend to get loud and rowdy and detract from a comfortable shopping atmosphere." (Source: Boingboing.net)

Drinking beer and burning couches? Not uni students in Monaco. A masters in luxury retail management has been launched at the International University of Monaco with brands such as Gucci and Ralph Lauren. The course includes study of "aesthetics and artistic appreciation" and "codes, symbols and rituals in luxury retailing". (Source: BBC.co.uk)
On the road to nowhere
A reader from Westmere writes: "To the boy-racer driver of the police car which, lights flashing and siren blaring, roared up the motorway shoulder between Bond St and the next exit at 12.50pm on Wednesday: You are an idiot. I don't know where you were going in such a hurry (nor did you, as you stopped before exiting the motorway) but if you had used the ordinary, unclogged lanes, we would have pulled over. And you wouldn't have showered cars with slush and gravel."

A busker with a two-song repertoire was arrested after abusing the landlord of the Anchor pub in Hastings, East Sussex, who pleaded with him to play something else. Dean Langley played Wonderwall by Oasis and American Pie by Don McLean over and over again for hours. When the landlord protested, the guitarist hurled abuse and the police were called in.
Raise a (ring) finger
