KEY POINTS:
This picture is from London CD shop Crystal Palace, writes Shirlz. "It is not the most welcoming sign I have seen on a door and it almost makes you want to eat a hot curry the night before so you can walk in and fart on demand, just to see what the shop owner would do."

A reader asks: "How's this for dodgy? I was filling out forms for internet access to ASB Bank's KiwiSaver scheme and read this in section 5: 'By signing this form I consent to receiving commercial electronic messages regarding the ASB KiwiSaver scheme or any other financial opportunities, products or services ... ' Okay. So I give consent for them to spam me. This is the part that really gets me: ' ... And agree that the person sending any such message does not need to include a functional unsubscribe facility in the message'. What? You mean they have the right not to let me unsubscribe? Or they can have an 'unsubscribe' link, but it doesn't have to work? The form got binned."

A reader writes: "In Newmarket on Saturday we spotted a Bradleys tow truck. The driver seemed in a rush and didn't want to get out in the rain so just reversed the catch under the tyres and took off. He jack-knifed the van taking a corner, straightened up and continued driving with the swaying van in behind. Is there not a law that requires operators to look after the cars they tow?"
John Pryor writes: "You took a swipe at me over an advertisement for a property on Kawau. I suspect none of your readers really believe you can see from New Zealand to South America, but it is a colourful way of describing an unobstructed sea view. As to your suggestion about taking photos of the property, perhaps you did not notice that two of the three photos in the advertisement were taken from the property. There is no suggestion Barkers Bay is for sale. The section for sale has a legal right of way right to the wharf in the photo. And I have stood on the beach and felt the sand between my toes. Maybe Annette Jones is thinking of another beach? Yes, the wharf is in private ownership, but the public may use it. I have used the wharf myself at low tide, so I do not understand the claim that it is not all-tide. The land for sale is visible in the photo."
