Would you stand on a short-haul flight to save 50 per cent on the ticket price? A survey by United States website Travelzoo.com asked 1000 respondents what measures they'd be willing to take to save on a plane ticket. More than a quarter said they'd stand up on a cross-country flight to save half the fare. And 41 per cent said they'd give up use of the aircraft toilets in exchange for a half-price deal.

An epidemic of fatal knife attacks in Britain has prompted Nike to withdraw its Air Stab shoes from British stores. The shoes, a relaunched "retro" range from 1988, also have the phrase Runnin' 'n' Gunnin' on their inner linings and heel. An advertising world first has appeared in London - pitvertising. The innovative concept uses digital TV screens built into the armpits of shirts. It was developed by deodorant manufacturer Right Guard as the ideal way to market its products. A hired team of "Pitvertisers" was sent out on to the streets of London to test the new medium.
