Glenda Hicks, the chaplain at Lincoln University, recently moved into a new office where the signwriter has just finished. Hicks forwarded pictures to a few friends saying: "The attached photos are taken outside the doors leading through to my new office - which is behind the double doors, but before the men's loo. I can't begin to imagine what possessed the signwriter to produce this way, but I am seizing the opportunity to put it in the student magazine this week, along with a competition for the best caption."

A Westmere reader objects to being spammed by thespians: "The Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act which came into force on September 5 has passed the good folk at the Auckland Theatre Company by. Yesterday, I received, in quick succession, two texts exhorting me to come to their latest show. My permission has not been sought and I am offered in the message no chance to unsubscribe."

Joe Frampton, who works for DHL Worldwide Express, says perfume requires a Dangerous Goods/Hazardous Substances declaration for good reason. Perfume "is a dangerous item to transport because of the alcohol content. Perfume is flammable and can cause a real danger if ignited."
