The New York Times reports that some hardcore ultra-marathoners have their toenails removed surgically (and permanently). Toenails can cause problems by bleeding underneath or coming loose and banging against the front of a shoe. Police say a one-legged suspect was caught after a single shoe was taken from a store in Belgium. An amputee was an immediate suspect when a store attendant found one shoe missing from the shop. A police spokesman said authorities were alerted and quickly found the man with the shoe. (Source: Metro.co.uk)

While at his brother-in-law's funeral at Holy Trinity Church in Parnell, Dennis was horrified to find you had to get a parking ticket to park behind the church. "How long is a funeral supposed to last? I was told by a local that tow trucks frequent this lot often while a funeral is in progress and tow cars away that haven't put enough money in. A tow truck was in the carpark when I returned to my car but I had allowed two hours and still had 20 minutes to go."
