A gang of thieves is employing Trojan Horse tactics by smuggling a "short person" - a dwarf or child - on Swedish buses inside a large bag, in order to ransack other bags in the luggage compartment. Swebus, which operates coach services across Sweden, said cash and a number of items went missing from bags on two separate occasions this month. "We think it is a short, young person", Ingvar Ryggasjo, sales manager for Swebus, said. "We are taking extra security measures and are thinking of installing video surveillance cameras." John Amiria was forced to stop at McDonald's Northcote so his 5-year-old daughter could use the toilet.
"Within in the confines of the toilet the muzak they play through the restaurant is noticeably louder (no ambient noise) and therefore the lyrics are clearer. They were playing Leave Me Alone (I'm Lonely) by Pink at the time. The radio version has her singing "Leave me the [blank] alone" but McD were playing the album version, ie the F word filled the blank. I thought I'd misheard it (I have the album, so maybe my brain filled in the blank?) but the word was used repeatedly so ... no.
I thought this was odd since I knew a big corporate like McDonald's would use a music service to provide their muzak."

High maintenance togs: Terri Richards rushed out to buy the lovely yellow bikini she saw in Canvas magazine at the weekend. Proudly showing her husband her purchase the "Care Tips" leaflet fell out with the following instructions:
"Never roll up when wet. Rinse thoroughly after use. Hand wash separately in cold water. Use a mild detergent. Do not bleach. Do not tumble dry. Do not dry-clean. Do not iron. Dry in shade. Some colours may bleed or transfer when wet. Avoid contact with suntan lotions, oils, rough surfaces, pools and spas treated with harsh chemicals."

Murray Hunter of Titirangi says Mr Munir, featured in yesterday's Sideswipe, should have simply moved to New Zealand instead of pretending he was dead to escape his 180 speeding fines. "Anyone here with $30,000 + in speeding fines gets them wiped by a kind judge in exchange for 100 hours community service that you never need to do as no one enforces it. Much easier and financially rewarding than spending a year in jail."
