We are all used to seeing buses apologising for not being in service, but it seems not all buses feel this way, writes Lance Steven. "Perhaps this bus has an anger management problem and this is why it is locked up behind the fence."

Janetfound it interesting to see Burger Fuel in Taupo advertising their "Ecolicious" burgers. "As a biologist, my first instinct was to identify the name E.coli in the ad - a common bacterium which, if found in food in large amounts, causes food poisoning. It took me a moment to realise they were referring to their eco-friendly packaging!"

A reader writes: "In 2001, my wife went for a precautionary mammogram because of a 4mm lump. We never heard any more about it but were delighted to receive the x-rays today (eight years later) with a letter to say that there is nothing to worry about. Except maybe the Health Service?"

A recent poll asked Brits what annoys them the most. Their top 100 included the usual fare - tailgating, foreign call centres and slow internet connections - but also had a few new irritants, like the nation's obsession with Z-list celebrities, over-packaged kids' toys and children at weddings. Super City transport: "My girlfriend and I thought we would do the environmentally responsible thing and take the train and then ferry to the Devonport market on Sunday," writes Tim. "We set out from home at 10.30am, full of the excitement of an adventure. Through a series of misconnections, "maintenance" issues and general confusion, we staggered into the market at a little after 1pm ... $25 lighter. The last time I flew back from Sydney it took approx 2.5 hours. The last time I drove to Hamilton it cost less than $20 ... Man, we are going to look "wick-ed" to the tourists travelling around this city during the 2011 Rugby World Cup!"

Steve writes: "Have we forgotten the morale-boosting masterpieces that our World War II heroes sent to Hitler. There was nothing like an image reflecting heartfelt sentiment hitting the papers for the masses to read and hope that maybe this one will indeed end the war. In those days, we engaged in supporting our boys rather than lambasting them."

And we were worried about the singlet police? More than 150 people marched outside Richmond High School in Indiana after the school suspended hundreds of students for violating a new dress code which bans stripes, florals, plaids, logos and any clothing deemed to be too tight or too loose.
