Inland Revenue is proposing changes to its tax disputes process and wants feedback on an issues paper released today.
Revenue Minister Peter Dunne says the aim is to make it work more efficiently for both sides.
"Every year a number of cases end up in disputes," he said.
"The Government expects the tax system to resolve these disputes swiftly and efficiently. A regular review of the resolution mechanism is therefore necessary."
Mr Dunne said the solutions proposed were largely administrative rather than legislative.
