Susan Graham, who has died aged 95, was a Saturday columnist for the New Zealand Herald during the 1950s and 1960s.
Her column, titled Susan's Week, described life in New Zealand in the days before television was widely viewed. Mrs Graham also covered the 1953 visit to New Zealand by the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh, and subsequent Royal tours.
Her column was syndicated to other national newspapers and, as a result of their popularity, Mrs Graham became a respected public speaker and tour group leader. She wrote nine books, mostly on travel. She is survived by a son and two grandsons. Her husband, Jock Graham, also a Herald journalist, died in 1999.
