Sir George Pinker, former Surgeon Gynaecologist to the Queen, has died at 82.
Pinker attended nine royal births including those of Prince William and Prince Harry.
He was appointed to the royal post in 1973. Pinker was knighted in 1990, when he stepped down from his royal appointment.
He believed moderation was the key to a successful pregnancy: "Lead as normal a life as possible without indulging in excesses, neither eating for two nor walking two miles a day if you are not used to it."
