Hedley Mortlock, a former editor of NZ Truth and a respected sports journalist, has died at 66 after a battle with cancer. He was editor of Truth from 1987 to 1997 after previously being sports editor of the weekly for 19 years. He was also founding president of the NZ Sport Journalists Association.
