A man remains in a serious condition today after being found injured in court cells.
An investigation is underway after the man was discovered seriously hurt in a cell in Tauranga District Court on Wednesday afternoon.
A police spokeswoman said the man had been alone in the cell when he was found.
Medical treatment was provided to him and he was taken to Tauranga Hospital in an ambulance, she said.
Police are investigating and enquiries are ongoing.
