A police investigation is ongoing into a Hari Hari crash in which a young man died after his vehicle collided with a wandering cow.
Cody Pink, 23, struck the beast on Wanganui Flat Road on March 13 and died as a result of his injuries two days later, in Christchurch Hospital.
Sergeant Paul Watson, of Hokitika police, said today the inquiry was ongoing into how the beast got on to the road, and no charges had been laid against the landowner.
Fencing in the vicinity of the crash scene was known to be good.
Inquiries were focused on whether someone had enabled stock to be on the road, and there was known fishing access across farmland in the area.
