Tens of thousands of dollars have gone missing from the bank accounts of men around the country after they met a man with many names on internet sites.
Auckland police want to speak to Te Moana Nui Arkui Edwards - also known as Mo Edwards, Jason Edwards and Matthew Wilson - about fraudulent eftpos transactions, stolen cheques, online purchases and money transfers.
The 30-year-old, who says he is a nurse and rugby referee, lives in Auckland.
Constable Craig Burrow is investigating 10 files of similar offending dating back to December 2007 which have happened in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Hamilton.
