Feng Ning of China won the third Michael Hill International Violin Competition on Saturday night, heading off Yvonne Lam of the United States and Bartosz Woroch of Poland in the final in the Auckland Town Hall.
As well as taking top honours, Feng Ning was awarded $40,000, a CD recording contract for worldwide distribution, a tour of New Zealand next year and a Rado watch.
