A man who tried to smuggle more than half a tonne of explosives on to an Interislander ferry has pleaded guilty to a range of charges in the Wellington High Court.
Allan Herbert Tod, 67, of Raetihi, intended to take 663kg of explosives on a ferry in 2010.
He was sentenced to 300 hours' community work and given a $5000 fine.
