KEY POINTS:
A homicide investigation has been launched after a fatal stabbing in Invercargill early today.
Police said they were called to an address in the north of the city about 1am and found a 31-year-old man with stab wounds.
He was taken to Southland Hospital where he died a short time later.
Senior Sergeant Olaf Jensen said a 26-year-old man at the address was apprehended and they were not seeking anyone else in relation to the incident.
They were still to advise next-of-kin of those involved and more information would be released later today.
