The long-running commission of inquiry into police conduct has been delayed again.
The inquiry was set up in February 2004 after revelations of historic allegations of rape by police officers.
Internal Affairs Minister Rick Barker says he has been told the reporting date has been extended from September 30 this year to March 31, to allow the parties involved time to analyse the commission's work.
The commission has looked at police processes in dealing with complaints of sexual assault by police or their associates.
It was originally estimated to cost $2.68 million.
National MP Simon Power has said previously that it could result in a bill of $3.97 million by the time the inquiry reached the former due date of September.
