Inquiry into Ohakea Air Base death

The Coroner is investigating the death of an airman at Ohakea Air Force Base.

Blake Hudson, from Whakatane, was jogging back to the gym after the regular training class on Monday, when he started dropping behind from the group, and then collapsed.

Bulls Senior Constable Chris Craig says the 20-year-old was given medical assistance, but died at the scene.
