Inquiry into ex-principal

The Teachers' Council has launched an investigation into a former principal who admitted he took drugs and paid hush money to a former student.

Council director Peter Lind confirmed on Friday the former head of Kawerau College, Steve Hocking, "is under investigation".

Hocking resigned in May.

The investigation will likely focus on a damning report into allegations against Hocking.
