A post mortem on a man found dead at a private care facility in Hamilton over the weekend was inconclusive and inquiries are continuing, police say.
The victim was named today as Hone Dennis Terry, 38, who died at the facility in suburban Dinsdale on Saturday evening.
Earlier reports Mr Terry was a mental health patient were wrong, police said.
Detective Senior Sergeant Karl Thornton from the Hamilton CIB said a post-mortem in Auckland on Sunday was inconclusive.
Further investigation was needed to determine the cause of death.
"All I can say at this time is Mr Terry had a number of pre-existing medical conditions," Mr Thornton said.
"His medical background is currently being checked which includes a request for his medical records.
"We've interviewed a number of witnesses and are not seeking anyone else in relation to this death at this time."
