A prisoner charged with attacking a fellow inmate while armed with a stabbing weapon and razor blades has been committed for trial.
George Charlie Baker, 28, faces three charges relating to an incident in Auckland Prison at Paremoremo on August 27.
He is alleged to have kidnapped a fellow prisoner and threatened to kill him.
He also faces a count that, while assaulting the other man, he had with him a hand-made stabbing device and two razor blades in circumstances that showed an intention to use them.
Baker's case has been transferred from North Shore District Court to the High Court at Auckland for consideration in February.
The High Court will decide whether the trial should be held there or in a district court.
