Inmate due in court for disputed facts hearing

The inmate who killed a Waikato prison guard is due in court this morning for a disputed facts hearing.

Latu Kepu was to be sentenced last week for the manslaughter of 33-year-old Jason Palmer at Spring Hill Prison in May.

Mr Palmer is the first prison officer in the country to be killed while on duty.

The sentencing was delayed after "significant differences" were found between the Crown and defence counsel over factual matters that might affect sentencing.
