Inmate dies at Paremoremo prison

It's emerged a prisoner has died in his cell at Auckland's Paremoremo prison.

The grim discovery was made on Friday night.

Police were called, and no staff or other prisoners were injured.

The death has been referred to the coroner, and Corrections is extending its condolences to the prisoner's family and friends.
