A woman has no recollection of what she was doing outside and how she was injured before she was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries yesterday.
The Tauranga-based Trustpower TECT Rescue helicopter was sent to Te Puke in the Western Bay of Plenty at 3pm to help the 32-year-old woman.
The woman was concussed and had a serious head injury in what was thought to be a horse-related incident.
She was stabilised at the scene by St John paramedics before being flown to Tauranga Hospital.
A Philips Search and Rescue Trust spokesman said there were no eyewitnesses to the incident, and the woman could not recall what she was doing outside or how she was injured.
