A paraglider who crashed into a cliff and fractured both his legs is in a stable condition after the incident.
A 35-year-old Inglewood man was seriously injured on Friday after crashing into a cliff at Back Beach in New Plymouth and falling around 10 metres.
He was initially taken to Taranaki Base Hospital and has since been transferred to Waikato Hospital for further specialist care, a Westpac Rescue Helicopter spokeswoman said.
