A man with serious head injuries walked "for a long time" to get help after a quad bike crash on a farm in the Coromandel.
The man, aged in his 60s, was injured after a quake bike rolled on a farm in Colville before 2pm yesterday, the Auckland Westpac Rescue Helicopter Trust said.
He walked "for a long time to get help", it said, and was eventually taken to a medical centre.
The rescue chopper was called out at around 2pm to airlift the man.
He had serious head injuries, the trust said.
