An injured hunter was winched out of the Kaimanawa Forest today after he fell and injured himself.
The hunter was with his brother in the central North Island forest when he slipped and fell near a creek bed.
The brother set out on foot to alert emergency services. He came across a farm house and called police.
The Youthtown rescue helicopter winched in two paramedics who prepared the injured hunter to be airlifted out. He was taken to Taupo Hospital for treatment.
