A German woman has been airlifted out of Abel Tasman National Park today after being injured in a fall last night.
The 20-year-old fell at Bark Bay hut, on the eastern coast side of the park, about 10.30pm.
A water taxi was called this morning and a rescue operation launched, with the Summit Rescue Helicopter landing on the beach near the hut.
The woman was treated at the scene by a paramedic and other members of her group carried her to the helicopter in a stretcher.
She was flown to Nelson Hospital about 11.30am.
