An elderly farm worker spent hours trapped in his tractor on rural farmland in Hawkes Bay after he injured his spine.
According to a statement from the Lowe Corporation Rescue Helicopter, the 73-year-old man from Raupunga had injured himself while working on a tractor and was unable to get himself out.
He was discovered about four hours later by another farm worker who called emergency services.
The rescue chopper transported him to the Hawkes Bay Fallen Soldiers' Memorial Hospital for further treatment.
