The Hamilton bus driver who was run over by his own bus outside Waikato Hospital last week is now off life support and has been moved from the hospital's intensive care unit.
Ross McSheffrey, 52, was pinned under his own bus for about 10 minutes when it rolled over him outside Waikato Hospital last week.
He was in a critical condition but he has now been moved to the high dependency unit and is in a stable condition.
Mr McSheffrey's wife Trish said today her husband's condition, while still of concern, had improved and he had been speaking to family and friends.
