There are fresh moves on drug controls with the Government placing a temporary class drug notice on an ingredient used in party pills and weight loss supplements.
Associate Health Minister Peter Dunne said he has imposed a ban on a substance known as DMAA because of health concerns that have been raised about it.
"It's broader than just the party pills issue, it's about public safety and the individual's health so that's why we've done it."
Mr Dunne said it means products containing the drug will have to be removed from sale and they will only be allowed back in the market if their producers can prove they're safe.
