KEY POINTS:
Double amputee mountaineer Mark Inglis is bound for Everest again -- this time on a philanthropic mission to hand over off-road wheelchairs to a Kathmandu group working with handicapped people.
Inglis will also give the group copies of a handbook produced by the spinal injury unit at Burwood Hospital in Christchurch.
The mountaineer, who became embroiled in controversy for leaving a dying British climber on Everest during his ascent last May, raised money for amputees on that expedition and late last year launched his charity, Limbs For All, to channel cash towards the disabled.
"It's the first step to give something back, really," Inglis told The Press newspaper.
He was due to leave today.
